Who We Are

Anthony Wayne Rehabilitation Center for Handicapped and Blind, Inc. (AWRC) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving individuals with disabilities and behavioral health needs to live more independently, participate more fully, and reach their full potential. While headquartered in Indiana, AWRC’s reach extends far beyond—supporting individuals, organizations, government agencies, and businesses across the country.

OUR ROLE

AWRC is the central force behind a network of specialized organizations. As a parent organization, we provide the strategy, infrastructure, and vision that enable each organization to operate effectively. This model allows individual programs to focus deeply on their areas of expertise while remaining connected through a shared mission.

AWRC Investment in Housing

In addition to the direct services provided through our programs, we are committed to expanding access to affordable, community-based housing for individuals with disabilities. AWRC currently owns 29 homes across Delaware, Indiana, Maryland, Missouri, and Montana, each thoughtfully adapted to meet the unique needs of the individuals served. The homes include modifications to support individuals with intensive medical and behavioral health needs, helping ensure safe, stable, and personalized living environments.

Beyond providing housing, these homes reflect our commitment to inclusive communities and person-centered support, offering meaningful alternatives to institutional living.
